"What seem our worst prayers may really be, in God's eyes, our best. Those, I mean, which are least supported by devotional feeling. For these may come from a deeper level than feeling. God sometimes seems to speak to us most intimately when he catches us, as it were, off our guard."
-C.S. Lewis

In a small church in Hull, England that's known for it's loud worship sevices and homies that attend is where Short Circuit first made their debut, when Hollinger and McNally's home church was hosting Damon's mission trip from the States. The trio soon discovered their similar musical interests and were given the opportunity to lead worship services together towards the end of the trip.
"Orlando and I were visiting Eli in Chicago," explains McNally, "it was the first Summer we got to go together. We had gone a couple of times to visit, but it never worked out we got to go at the same time."
"My friend invited us to go to Nashville with him," says Damon, " and we were invited to perform at an open mic night at one of the local coffee shops and that only worked out because my friend had to stay in town till the following week since another gallery wanted to see some more of his work. The reason he went was to see an art exhibit that had put some of his pieces on display."
It was at the coffee shop that they caught the attention of producer, Mark Trojan, he was taken by the performance!
"Big Willy introduced Short Circuit," says Trojan, "and when they started to sing, my jaw hit the floor!"
Afterwards he arranged a meeting for later that week, where he offered a contract. They decided to take a few more days to pray about it and consult their families.
"The more we talked about it," says Damon, "the more evident the answer was. The night before we decided, all of us at diffrent places had read, Matthew 5:16. We all felt like God was saying, 'why are you dragging your feet?' It has really been such a humbling experience. I feel so inadequante to His calling, but very greatful, because it's the least I can do for all He has already done for me!"
"The Lord has taught me more in these few short months than I would have in ages," explains McNally, "by putting me in a vulnerable situation. I've had to completely and fully put all my trust in Him and not hold anything back. The Lord is teaching me so many new things everyday!"
